I Like "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta"!!!

This country is really becoming more receptive to black people.Look at the new crop of black reality shows that have been created recently. There are so many that even Luke from the 2 Live Crew has one! One show that I think shows different types of black women is this season's "Real Housewives of Atlanta"! Some may find them shallow because of the obvious displays of wealth. I don't think all of the women behave tastefully in every instance on the show. But there are some really loud & boisterous women every season. That's why I watch it! I am ecstatic that we get to see successful african-american's lifestyles. Apparently, Atlanta is one of the black hubs of society.

The first episode was this past Tuesday & it was spectacular to see all that black fabulousness! I saw friendship, glamour, pride, & confidence in most of the women. As the show goes on, I'm sure that we'll learn which of these divas has real depth to their personality. The most controversial one so far is Nee-Nee because she doesn't get along with Sheree. At one point, Sheree has a birthday party that she claimed she invited Nee-Nee to. There was an embarassing moment for Nee-Nee when she was denied entrance due to an error with the guest list. It was explained to Nee-Nee as a mishap. She didn't believe that & neither did her friend Kim. There's the usual jealousy & animosity that makes up drama and this show has got plenty more in store!

Cornell West & Tavis Smiley Are Two Inspirational Black Men!

Cornell West is being interviewed by Tavis Smiley in this video. These are two black men that I respect & admire because they really delve deep into all the issues that concern the black diaspora. Cornell West is a highly evolved intellectual who wrote a classic book called Race Matters in the early 90's. For more information on him go to his website:http://www.cornelwest.com/

Tavis Smiley used to have his own talk show on BET that was wildly popular in the 90's as well. Both Tavis Smiley & Cornell West have been critical of Barack Obama. But, Tavis Smiley has been vilified by some because of it.
According to wikepedia.org,
"On April 11, 2008, Tavis Smiley announced that he would resign in June 2008 as a commentator on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. He cited fatigue and a busy schedule in a personal call to Joyner. However Joyner -- referring to several commentaries in which Smiley was critical of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama -- indicated otherwise on his program, stating: "The real reason is that he can't take the hate he's been getting regarding the Barack issue -- hate from the black people that he loves so much."[5]

Smiley has also written articles for The Huffington Post."(End of Quote).
That is what an educated person should do. Whether or not they support Barack Obama is no reason to diminish either of these men's achievements. Hats off to these two inspirational black figures!

McCain Has Smeared Obama Repeatedly! Now He Admits That Obama Is A Decent American

Well, after inciting all these angry voters with rhetoric about patriotism, McCain acknowledges that Obama's not a terrorist. I'm sure you've seen the video but if not here it is. He has no choice but to defend Obama's character. One of his supporters at this rally says that Obama is an Arab. Even John McCain had to interrupt this woman & correct her. What he should do is come out & denounce this type of behavior. His campaign should issue a formal apology for inciting such rage from his backers. And Representative John Lewis(D)has come out with a statement about the racially divisive tactics that have been employed by McCain & Palin. Here is his view on this situation.
