The Outrage I'm Feeling Over Oscar Grant's Death Is Shared By Many In Oakland! Peaceful Protest Turned Into Riots Throughout The City!

I believe people are angered by the fact that Johannes Mehserle, the 27-yr. old Bart cop that shot Oscar Grant in the back, quit his job so that he wouldn't have to speak with investigators! He has given no comment since he shot Oscar Grant, who was unarmed & laying facedown on the ground when he was killed. What the fuck is that about?! I know good & damn well that this cop is not going to get away with this! And where's the roundtable discussions on CNN,FOX,MSNBC,etc.. over this unjustified murder? I mean, the whole country was in an uproar when Michael Vick was involved in the death of dogs! Is it just in Oakland that folks are incensed by the brutal death of an unarmed 22-yr. old family man? Where's the national outrage over this?

It's Taken Me Awhile To Talk About The Woman Who Was Gang Raped For Being A Lesbian In Richmond,CA!

A young woman was brutally attacked, kidnapped,& raped for being a lesbian last month.Since I've been the victim of a crime myself,it took me awhile to speak on this incident. It's hard to come to grips with the fact that as a female you are in danger of being raped by a man every time you step out into the streets. What is really horrific in this case is that she was taunted for being gay by these men in addition to everything else they did. The vitriol towards women that some men have is really terrifying. Fortunately, the guys who did this have been caught. Here's more on that from MSNBC:

"Two men and a teenager have been charged in the alleged gang rape of a lesbian in the San Francisco Bay-area.

Prosecutors on Tuesday charged 31-year-old Humberto Hernandez Salvador and 21-year-old Josue Gonzalez with kidnapping, carjacking and gang rape in the attack last month in Richmond.

The pair did not enter pleas when they appeared in Contra Costa County Superior Court."(END OF EXCERPT) Read the rest here:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28530013/

I'm just wondering why they weren't charged with committing a hate crime as well.

I Am Infuriated That The Bart Police Killed This Young Unarmed Man In Oakland!

Oscar Grant was fatally shot by the Bart police in Oakland this past Sunday. He was only 22 years old. His daughter was the first thing on his mind as he lay dying from the gunshot wound in his back. The officer who drew his weapon should be criminally charged & Oscar Grant's family should receive every bit of the $25 million that they are asking for. The video clearly shows that the man was being subdued by several officers. They couldn't handle one man without shooting him? It just does not make any sense. And now I'm hearing that the officer may have accidently shot Oscar Grant with a real gun instead of a taser gun.Well, I think that this officer intentionally shot Oscar Grant. Here's the latest on this story from Fox News:

"Bay Area Rapid Transit Police Chief Gary Gee said on Sunday that the agency is "committed to completing an unbiased, thorough and detailed investigation" of the shooting death of Oscar Grant.

"This case is not even four days cold. We're in the early stages of the investigation and we will do a very thorough job," he said.

Several unanswered questions remained after BART officers went to Oakland's Fruitvale station to investigate reports of a supposed brawl on a train on which Grant was riding around 2 a.m. Thursday.

A friend of Grant's who was with him on the crowded Oakland train station platform at the time of the shooting said Grant pleaded with officers not to harm him.

"Oscar yelled, 'You shot me! I got a four-year-old daughter,"' said Fernando Anicete. "Oscar was telling us to calm down and we did. We weren't looking for any trouble."

Anicete was among more than 50 people attending a tearful news conference in Oakland on Sunday where Grant's family announced they planned to file a $25 million claim against the Bay Area Rapid Transit agency this week. A claim is the first step in the process of suing the agency.
The family's attorney John Burris said the shooting was intentional, and that he planned to ask Alameda County prosecutors to seek criminal charges against the officer. Burris said Grant, of Hayward, Calif., posed no threat to officers when a bullet entered his back and ricocheted to his lung area, killing him almost instantly."(END OF EXCERPT) Read the rest here:http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,476644,00.html
