Roland Burris Is A Show Of Perserverance & Determination!

Roland Burris may be narcissistic & his mausoleum may be a bit much for some. But,I love this fucking guy! He could care less what others think of him.Roland Burris is going to get the seat that Harry Reid has tried to deny him.He has made Harry Reid look stupid because he has had to backtrack from his previous hard stance on the situation. There is no legal grounds to deny Burris the Illinois Senate seat.

The race card may have been played here,but wasn't it already being played? Harry Reid did not want an African-American to be seated. His choices were two white women. The claim is that an African-American would have trouble being re-elected in two years.I think that this whole situation just makes it clearer to the average observer that race is still a huge issue in America.Most blacks don't pay attention to the fact that there are hardly any blacks in the Senate.We're just so elated to have a black president.Many blacks have always maintained that there really isn't a place for them in politics.Having a black president signals change,but we can't say that everything is peachy because of Obama's win.It's the 21st century & racial progress is still moving at a snail's pace.Unfortunately,Gov.Blagojevich knows that & he was able to deflect attention from his dilemna by picking a black replacement for Obama's Senate seat. Since the Democrats wanted him to resign,he stuck it to them good! The Illinois gov. knew that Harry Reid did not want another African-American to be seated for whatever reason.Smart politics,Gov. Blagojevich! And kudos to Roland Burris for snatching this opportunity for himself.

The Outrage I'm Feeling Over Oscar Grant's Death Is Shared By Many In Oakland! Peaceful Protest Turned Into Riots Throughout The City!

I believe people are angered by the fact that Johannes Mehserle,the 27-yr. old Bart cop that shot Oscar Grant in the back, quit his job so that he wouldn't have to speak with investigators! He has given no comment since he shot Oscar Grant,who was unarmed & laying facedown on the ground when he was killed.What the fuck is that about?! I know good & damn well that this cop is not going to get away with this!And where's the roundtable discussions on CNN,FOX,MSNBC,etc.. over this unjustified murder? I mean,the whole country was in an uproar when Michael Vick was involved in the death of dogs! Is it just in Oakland that folks are incensed by the brutal death of an unarmed 22-yr. old family man? Where's the national outrage over this?

It's Taken Me Awhile To Talk About The Woman Who Was Gang Raped For Being A Lesbian In Richmond,CA!

A young woman was brutally attacked,kidnapped,& raped for being a lesbian last month.Since I've been the victim of a crime myself,it took me awhile to speak on this incident. It's hard to come to grips with the fact that as a female you are in danger of being raped by a man every time you step out into the streets.What is really horrific in this case is that she was taunted for being gay by these men in addition to everything else they did. The vitriol towards women that some men have is really terrifying. Fortunately, the guys who did this have been caught. Here's more on that from MSNBC:

"Two men and a teenager have been charged in the alleged gang rape of a lesbian in the San Francisco Bay-area.

Prosecutors on Tuesday charged 31-year-old Humberto Hernandez Salvador and 21-year-old Josue Gonzalez with kidnapping, carjacking and gang rape in the attack last month in Richmond.
