An African-American Teacher Gets Beaten By Austrian Police Who Thought He Was A Drug Dealer!

Was this a case of racial profiling? An African-American teacher, who is living in Austria, was mistaken for a drug dealer by the Austrian police. For some unknown reason, they felt it necessary to beat the crap out of him. This poor guy was just an innocent bystander.Because he looked "almost identical" to the suspected drug dealer,he was viciously attacked by the cops.Does this sound familiar to you?Unfortunately,it sounds like the same old thing that goes on right here in America. It's just another case of racial profiling.

Here's more from ABC News:

"An American teacher who was attacked by Austrian police who mistook him for a drug dealer said Monday he believes he was singled out because he was black and that he is taking legal action against the police for assault.

Mike Brennan, 34, from Jacksonville, Fla., said two undercover police officers "came out of nowhere" at a Vienna subway station and attacked him without identifying themselves.

Vienna police acknowledged the mix-up Monday and expressed their regret. In a statement, they acknowledged the officers had used "physical force." Karl Mahrer, a senior Vienna police official, said on Austrian television an investigation was under way to determine why it had been necessary to use force.

Brennan is recovering in a hospital from bruises, swelling and sprains to his back, neck and hand.

Brennan's lawyer Alexander Hofmann said he had initiated legal action against police for abuse of power and assault and battery, in effect asking prosecutors to investigate the matter and bring charges. Hofmann said he would sue for damages on behalf of his client at a later stage.

Asked in an interview with The Associated Press whether he believed he was attacked because of his race, Brennan said he saw "hatred" in the eyes of one of his attackers.

"I heard about the situation before here, I heard a lot about it, and I've never really seen it" before, he said.Brennan teaches physical education and English as a Second Language at the Vienna International School, a private school that caters to the Austrian capital's expatriate community. He has lived in the Austrian capital for about four years.

He said he would have been more badly hurt if his girlfriend had not intervened.

"I don't want this to happen to anyone else — I hope justice is served," said Brennan, perched on the edge of his hospital bed holding crutches."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.

Deputy Paul Schene Has Some Serious Issues For Beating Up A 15-Yr. Old Juvenile Detainee!

As you can see in this video,a 15-yr. old girl gets beaten & thrown around like a rag doll by Seattle cops.Deputy Paul Schene is the one that pulls the girl by her hair & hurls her to the floor! Now,they say that we don't know their side of the story. They say the teenager was mouthing off & kicked off her shoe in the officer's direction. But,I didn't see the girl doing anything threatening to either cop.I don't give a damn what this child said.Police officers need to learn that they are no different than the rest of us.Too many of them feel that they have license to do anything to a person they intepret as being disrespectful towards them. They know good & freakin' well that their lives were not endangered.Tempers flared & these cops went ballistic! And I think these two "men" are nothing but mere cowards!Heads should roll over this one! Here's more from ABC News:

"A King County sheriff's deputy kicks a 15-year-old girl, slams her to the floor of a jail cell, strikes her and pulls her hair in violence captured on videotape.Prosecutors released the surveillance video Friday in the assault case against Deputy Paul Schene, who is accused of using excessive force on the girl. Schene, 31, pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree assault in Superior Court on Thursday.

The incident last November began after the girl was brought in for an auto theft investigation, according to court documents. The footage shows the attack beginning after the girl enters the cell at suburban SeaTac City Hall and kicks off one of her shoes toward the deputy.

"We believe this case is beyond just police misconduct, it's criminal misconduct," King County Prosecutor Daniel Satterberg said. "This is clearly excessive force."Schene was investigated previously for shooting two people — killing one — in the line of duty in 2002 and 2006. Both times his actions were found to be justified, said Ian Goodhew, prosecutor's deputy chief of staff.

Calls by The Associated Press to Schene's lawyer, Anne Bremner, were not immediately returned Friday. Bremner, however, released a statement to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in which she said the video does not tell the whole story. Bremner had asked Judge Catherine Shaffer not to release the video to the media.

"As we argued to the judge, it will inflame public opinion and will severely impact the deputy's right to a fair trial," Bremner said."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.

Somali President Says Sharia Law In Somalia Will Not Be Strict!

Could this message by Al Qaeda be the reason behind Somali president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed's decision to allow a less strict version of sharia law in Somalia? Here's more from BBC:

" The 25-minute audio recording, titled "From Kabul to Mogadishu," focuses primarily on the "important developments" in Somalia, which al-Zawahiri called "a step on the path of victory of Islam."

CNN cannot authenticate the message, which was released on Sunday and was interspersed with television news reports and statements from various al Qaeda-linked commanders. CNN analysts who listened to the recording say the voice is consistent with his intonation and accent.

This is the third message from al-Zawahiri espousing the views of the al Qaeda terror network in 2009; the other two focused on Israel's recent military operation against Hamas leaders in Gaza.

In addition to Somalia, al-Zawahiri also addresses the situations in Yemen, Gaza, and Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Al-Zawahiri praised Al-Shabaab fighters in Somalia who recently seized control of Baidoa, where the U.N.-backed transitional government had been based. He warned the newly installed government, under President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, not to squander those gains by submitting "to American demands" and not abiding by sharia, or Islamic law.

"I call on my Muslim brothers in beloved Somalia ... to not be deceived by those who agree to the secularist constitutions which vie with the sharia in its right to rule," he said."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.

Here's more on the new president of Somalia's decision to allow sharia law there from CNN:

" Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed said Saturday he will give in to a rebel demand that he impose Islamic law, or sharia, in an effort to halt fighting between Somali forces and Islamic insurgents.
However, Ahmed told a news conference he won't agree to a strict interpretation of the law, which forbids girls from attending school, requires veils for women and beards for men, and bans music and television.

The president, speaking at his palace in the capital, Mogadishu, said local elders and religious leaders, acting as liaisons with the militants, brought him a message saying the rebels wanted a truce in the two-year-old fighting. He also asked African peacekeepers to stand down.

Ahmed, who was elected January 31, said he would ask the AU contingent to leave once there is a solid political solution to the conflict.

More than 40,000 Somalis have returned to abandoned neighborhoods in Mogadishu over the past six weeks, despite some of the heaviest fighting in months, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees said Friday."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.
