Was There A Plot To Assassinate President Obama In Turkey?
According to various news sources, the Turkish authorities have stopped a plan to assassinate President Obama during his visit to Turkey. What's really interesting is that this guy had a press card that identified him as an employee of Al Jazeera. The news organization denies even knowing the Syrian man who planned to kill our president with a knife. Here's more on this story from The Jerusalem Post:
"Turkish security services have arrested a man of Syrian descent who was planning to assassinate US President Barack Obama during his current trip to Turkey, the Saudi daily Al Watan reported Monday.
According to the report, the man, who was arrested on Friday, was carrying a press card identifying him as an employee of Al Jazeera. He reportedly confessed to his intention to stab Obama with a knife and said that he was aided by three accomplices.
The report stated that Turkish authorities were still unsure as to whether the press card was a fake or whether it had actually been issued the man by the Qatari news network."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the full story here.
An Italian Scientist Predicted The Earthquake That Hit Italy,But His Warnings Were Not Heeded!
It has been revealed that an Italian scientist predicted the tragic earthquake that struck Italy today. He even posted a warning on YouTube, but the authorities made him remove his findings from the internet.
This is not the first time that a earthquake prediction was ignored. As seen in the above video,Chinese scientists predicted the earthquake that hit China last year! The second video contains an "In Search Of..." episode about earthquakes & earthquake predictions.
The Italian seismologist,Gioacchino Giuliani, was accused of being a fear-mongerer.But,it appears that he really was a truth-harborer who was giving people legitimate & credible information. Here's what the scientist has to say,as reported by Reuters:
"An Italian scientist predicted a major earthquake around L'Aquila weeks before disaster struck the city on Monday, killing more than 100 people, but was reported to authorities for spreading panic.
The government on Monday insisted the warning, by seismologist Gioacchino Giuliani, had no scientific foundation but Giuliani said he had been vindicated and wanted an apology.
The first tremors in the region were felt in mid-January and continued at regular intervals, creating mounting alarm in the medieval city, about 100 km (60 miles) east of Rome.
Vans with loudspeakers drove around the town a month ago telling locals to evacuate their houses after Giuliani, from the National Institute of Astrophysics, predicted a large quake was on the way, prompting the mayor's anger.
Giuliani, who based his forecast on concentrations of radon gas around seismically active areas, was reported to police for "spreading alarm" and was forced to remove his findings from the Internet.
"Now there are people who have to apologize to me and who will have what has happened on their conscience," Giuliani told the website of the daily La Repubblica.
Giuliani, who lives in L'Aquila and developed his findings while working at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics in the surrounding Abruzzo region, said he was helpless to act on Sunday as it became clear to him the quake was imminent."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.
A Catastrophic Earthquake Kills Over 130 People In Italy!
There are at least 130 people dead in Italy because of a violent earthquake that caused major destruction. It has even flattened towns! The aftermath of that earthquake was truly devastating. Not only did this catastrophe kill people,it also left about 50,000 folks homeless! They will all be in my prayers. Here's more on this tragedy from Reuters:
"A powerful earthquake struck central Italy early on Monday, killing more than 130 people, making up to 50,000 homeless and flattening entire medieval towns while residents slept.
As rescue workers combed through the rubble for survivors and rushed to set up tents for the homeless before night fell, officials warned the death toll could rise further and declined to estimate the number of missing.
Most of the dead were in L'Aquila, a 13th century mountain city about 100 km (60 miles) east of Rome, and nearby towns and villages in the Abruzzo region. The quake struck shortly after 3.30 a.m. (0130 GMT) and aftershocks rattled the area throughout the day.
"Some towns in the area have been virtually destroyed in their entirety," said Gianfranco Fini, speaker of the lower house of parliament, as MPs observed a moment of silence.
Abruzzo's regional government said more than 130 people were confirmed dead, some 16 hours after the quake struck with a magnitude of between 5.8 and 6.3. ANSA news agency quoted hospital sources as saying more than 150 people had died.
"I woke up hearing what sounded like a bomb," said L'Aquila resident Angela Palumbo, 87.
"We managed to escape with things falling all around us. Everything was shaking, furniture falling. I don't remember ever seeing anything like this in my life."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.
