Somali Pirates Tried To Takeover Another U.S Ship, But They Failed!

It has barely been 48 hrs. since Capt. Phillips was rescued & we learn that Somali pirates tried to takeover another U.S ship.This time,they failed!Even though one of the pirates boasted that no one could stop them!

Somalia is in dire need of a government.Even the experts say that having the rule of law is the only real solution.Because these rogues are completely out of control.And the really sad thing is that a lot of these guys are just teenagers.Here's more on the U.S cargo ship that got away from The AP:

"Defiant Somali pirates fired rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons at another U.S. cargo ship on Tuesday but failed to hijack it, officials said, just days after Navy SEALs rescued an American hostage after an earlier unsuccessful hijacking.

The brazen midday attack on the MV Liberty Sun in international waters off the African coast is further evidence that Somali pirates are back to business as usual. Pirates have seized four other ships with 60 hostages since sharpshooters killed three gunmen holding American freighter captain Richard Phillips. "No one can deter us," one bandit boasted.

The Liberty Sun's American crew was not injured but the vessel sustained unspecified damage in the attack, owner Liberty Maritime Corp. said in a statement Tuesday night.

"We are under attack by pirates, we are being hit by rockets. Also bullets," crewman Thomas Urbik, 26, wrote his mother in an e-mail Tuesday. "We are barricaded in the engine room and so far no one is hurt. (A) rocket penetrated the bulkhead but the hole is small. Small fire, too, but put out."

It was not immediately clear what happened next, but Urbik's sent a follow-up e-mail "that said he was safe and they had a naval escort taking them in," his mother, Katy Urbik said.

A U.S. Navy destroyer, the USS Bainbridge, responded to the attack but the pirates had departed by the time it arrived some six hours later, Navy Capt. Jack Hanzlik said.

The Bainbridge is the same destroyer from which snipers killed the three pirates holding Phillips captive aboard a drifting lifeboat for five days. The Bainbridge was carrying Phillips to Kenya when it was called to respond to the attack on the Liberty Sun.

The Liberty Sun, with its crew of about 20 Americans, was carrying humanitarian aid to Mombasa, Kenya, Hanzlik said. It continued on its way to Kenya after the attack under Navy escort, the company said."(END OF EXCERPT)To read the rest click here.

Oscar De La Hoya Is "Beyond The Glory"! He Announced His Retirement Today!

Folks were wondering if Oscar De La Hoya would retire after he was beaten to a pulp by Manny Pacquiao last year.A lot of his fans wanted him to give up the fight before his illustrious career became tarnished by a serious losing streak.Now,he has announced that those fans will get their wish.Here's more from the L.A. "Oscar De La Hoya, boxing's "Golden Boy" who capitalized on a stirring Olympic gold-medal performance in 1992 and then in his pro career captured the attention of millions with his rags-to-riches rise from East Los Angeles, announced his retirement today.

"I'm announcing my retirement. . . . When I can't compete at my highest level, it's not fair -- to me, [or] my fans," De La Hoya, 36, said a news conference outside downtown's L.A. Live complex. "Knowing that you're never going to compete again is a tough decision, but now I am looking forward to the future of boxing. When I cannot compete at this level, I have come to the conclusion that it is over."

Parish Records Have Been "Corrected" For An Atheist That Was Baptized As A Baby!

The following story just goes to show that you cannot impose religion on your child.All you can do is educate them about the existence of God & help them seek spirituality.Because it is important for them to know that they were created by a higher power.But,they may decide to reject those teachings & become an atheist.

There is a English atheist who wants to assert his belief that there is no God.He was baptised as a baby & now he wants the record to state that he did not agree to the procedure.He wants his baptismal records to be removed!

"John Hunt, a newly qualified nurse, was baptised at the age of five months at the parish church of St Jude with St Aidin in Thornton Heath, south London.

As a schoolboy he decided he did not believe in God and stopped going to Sunday school aged 11.

Now 56 and living in Croydon, he said he wanted parish records amended to note he did not consent to the baptism in 1953.

He was told that his baptism cannot be deleted because it is a matter of historical record.

He then secured a "de-baptism" certificate produced by the National Secular Society (NSS), rejecting "superstitions" or the idea of original sin.

It reads: "I reject all its creeds and other such superstitions in particular the perfidious belief that any baby needs to be cleansed of original sin."

This week the church backed down and said the entry would be "corrected".

A representative of Southwark diocese told him: "I have spoken to the Archdeacon of Croydon and he has undertaken, in this particular case, to have it cross-referenced with the baptismal entry and pasted into the back fly-leaf of the relevant register at St Jude's Church." Dr Hunt, a former software engineer, said: "I am delighted that on this occasion the church are going to do what they said they would do."

He added: "It's about time that some of us stood up to be counted. I am hoping that others will follow my lead.
