A reality TV contestant is the subject of a manhunt that has extended into Canada because he may have brutally murdered his girlfriend. Since Ryan Alexander Jenkins was the last one seen with Jasmine Fiore, the police want to talk to him. After reporting her missing,he has disappeared from sight.
As the search for Mr. Jenkins continues, the details of Ms. Fiore's murder are getting gorier by the minute! Her body was stuffed in a trunk & found in a dumpster. Now,we learn that her teeth & fingers were forcibly removed. How gross it that?!!Catch this monster!!!
Here's more from The NY Daily News:
"A reality TV contestant being sought for questioning in the grisly murder of his swimsuit model ex-wife was accused of beating her before, court records revealed Wednesday.
Ryan Alexander Jenkins was charged in June with battery on Jasmine Fiore, who was found dead in a Dumpster on Saturday near Los Angeles.
Jenkins was charged with domestic abuse after he allegedly hit Fiore in the arm, Nevada court records say. He is awaiting a nonjury trial in December on the charges.
A contestant on the VH1 reality show "Megan Wants a Millionaire," Jenkins married the slain stunner in a quickie Las Vegas wedding in March, records show.
Fiore's mother pleaded for cops to track down Jenkins, who has been on the run since reporting Fiore missing over the weekend.
"I want to find this guy," said Lisa Lepore, Fiore's mom.
The heartbroken mom blasted Jenkins as a controlling type who was "insanely jealous."
"I never had good vibe with him," Lepore said. "They didn't get along. He's really cheap and just weird."
The mom said Fiore had the marriage annulled in May.
Jenkins, who previously served 15 months' probation for a 2007 assault on a woman in Canada, took off after reporting Fiore missing on Saturday - the same day she was found dead."(END OF EXCERPT)Read more here.

Urban Farmer's Markets Should Definitely Be A Part Of Health Care Reform!!!
I have heard about as much as I can take from these elitist Republicans that get on television & talk about the pork that is in the proposed health care reform bill. They take issue with having government-subsidized farmer's markets in urban areas. Why is that needed you ask?
Well,if you have ever lived in the ghetto or "urban area",you know that finding fresh fruits & vegetables in the neighborhood is like finding buried treasure. It really is that elusive. You have to trek to suburban areas to get the edible goods.Having a farmer's market that is accessible to those in the poorest areas around the country is an excellent idea. And it is direly needed!
But,we also need to make these necessary food items affordable to everyone. And that's why I like this great article on the part sustainable food should play in this health care reform debate. Here's more from Jack & Jill Politics:
"A lot of African American obesity problems come from traditional diets and lack of knowledge about what a good diet is. Another problem for African Americans is lack of options for healthy food.
In many urban African American neighborhoods, there are plenty of options for fast food, but not that many options for healthy food. A study from the University of Pittsburgh came to the conclusion:
Without access to supermarkets, which offer a wide variety of foods at lower prices, poor and minority communities may not have equal access to the variety of healthy food choices available to non-minority and wealthy communities.
While health food trends like, fruit smoothies, turkey burgers, and tossed salads and healthy supermarkets, like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods have been popping up in upper class, trendy neighborhoods, they are hard to find in the working class, minority neighborhoods. Many minority neighborhoods are filled with corner stores that offer snacks, candy and very few options for health food. Soda and drinks with high fructose corn syrup are in abundance in many of these stores, while natural juices are hard to find and expensive.
A recent study by Horowitz found that only 18% of bodegas, or small grocery stores, in a minority neighborhood carried a selection of healthy foods compared with 58% of similar stores in a predominantly white area.
Fast food and junk food companies are constantly marketing themselves directly to Black people. Chains like Popeye’s, KFC and McDonalds spend a lot of advertising money to make sure Black people keep on buying their unhealthy products.
If we are truly to fix health care, we cannot just focus on treating diseases, we also must prevent them. Making sure every citizen has the opportunity to maintain a balanced, healthy diet should be a priority in whatever health care bill that the government passes. Tax breaks should be given to businesses that offer healthy alternatives and chains that only sell fatty, unhealthy foods should be taxed for revenue to fund health care.
We also need to educate children about the importance of having a healthy diet. PSA’s like The Truth anti-smoking campaign should be used to keep people away from eating unhealthy foods. Students should be given culinary classes and home economics classes that encourage a healthy, balanced diet.
There are a lot of options for healthy, nutritious, tasty foods out there. Unfortunately a lot of these foods are limited to the rich, and are far out of reach for many people in Black neighborhoods. If these options were given to all people, our health care system would have less of a burden and all people would be happier and healthier. The fast food system in America is in need of an overhaul, not unlike the auto industry. Just like health care should be right for every American, access to health food should be too."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the article in its entirety here.
A Law Firm That Bart Hired Says Much Went Wrong Before & After Oscar Grant's Murder!
Remember the murder of an innocent black man named Oscar Grant on New Year's Eve? It took place during a melee at the Fruitvale Bart Station in Oakland,CA.The person who killed Oscar Grant was a Bart police officer & most people were outraged when they found out the circumstances of his death. It simply did not have to happen!
For the naysayers out there who immediately took the cop's side in this unwarranted tragedy,a law firm that Bart officials hired to look into what went wrong has issued a report stating that the cops bungled the whole incident. It is not even clear whether or not Oscar Grant was ever involved in the fight that the police were responding to.The cold truth is that this bright young man's life was snuffed out for no reason.
Here's more from The Mercury News:
"The BART-commissioned report that found grave errors in how the agency's Police Department reacted before and after Oscar Grant III was killed will have little to no impact on the murder case against former Officer Johannes Mehserle, legal experts and his attorney said.
The report, released Tuesday, details numerous mistakes made by officers and department brass before and after Mehserle shot Grant in the back while the Hayward resident lay facedown Jan. 1 on the platform of BART's Fruitvale station in Oakland.
The report's findings mirror arguments made by Mehserle's attorney, Michael Rains, during a preliminary hearing at which Rains argued his client made a mistake shooting his gun at Grant instead of his Taser.
Rains has attempted to prove that BART officers responding to a call about a fight on a train were overwhelmed by rowdy passengers and that the officers had not been properly trained in the use of Tasers.
David Sklansky, a UC Berkeley law professor, said the report could help Mehserle with his central argument that he was, in part, a victim of organizational mismanagement and made a mistake during a chaotic situation.
"On the one hand, it makes what happened look even more horrible," Sklansky said. "On the other hand, it strengthens the argument by the officer that it was not entirely his fault."
Sklansky said the report could bolster testimony from defense experts who will be brought to the trial to describe the lack of training BART officers receive in using Tasers and dealing with large crowds. The report's findings, however, cannot be used as evidence in Mehserle's murder case, legal experts and Rains said.
The criminal justice system prohibits such reports from being introduced during criminal trials in an effort to encourage the corrections of mistakes that lead to tragic outcomes, said Michael Cardoza, a criminal attorney who has followed the Mehserle case. If such reports were allowed as evidence, Cardoza said, many agencies never would conduct investigations for fear the outcomes later could be used against them during criminal trials."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.
