Neil Cavuto Thinks That Retailers Should Not Hold Martin Luther King Day Sales
I have to say that I actually agree with Neil Cavuto of Fox News when he says that Dr. Martin Luther King's name should not be used as a platform for retailers. There really are much better ways to commemorate this great spiritual & civil rights leader than offering store discounts.
Volunteering is one of the ways that people get into the spirit of what Martin Luther King was really all about. He gave his time & his life so that others could have an elevated position in life. Not so that folks can get a better deal on the day that we celebrate his life.
Like Neil Cavuto, I find it to be quite tacky. Why not sell items that bear his image & message instead?

NFL Player Gaines Adams Has Died!
I just heard that NFL player Gaines Adams succumbed to a heart attack this morning. He was the Bears defensive end & Adams was only 26 years old. It's so,so sad. My condolences are with his family & friends.
Here's more from The Chicago Tribune:
"Bears defensive end Gaines Adams died Sunday morning of cardiac arrest resulting from an enlarged heart, according to Greenwood County, S.C., chief deputy coroner Marcia Kelley-Clark.
The 26-year-old Adams was taken to the emergency room at at Self Regional Healthcare at 7:14 a.m. Eastern time and pronounced dead at 8:21 a.m., Kelley-Clark said. Adams, who is from Greenwood, was visiting his girlfriend.
A Greenwood County Sheriff's investigator said the house was owned by Adams and the player and his girlfriend were at the residence at the time, and she reportedly made the call to 911 at around 7 a.m.
Toxicology tests are being run by the State Law Enforcement Division, though drug use was not suspected as a factor in Adams' death. However, those results probably will not be available for at least two months, Kelley-Clark said.
The Bears issued a statement Sunday afternoon, saying, "We are stunned and saddened by the news of Gaines' passing. Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time."
Adams' unexpected death shocked teammates. He was traded to Chicago from Tampa Bay in exchange for a 2010 second-round draft pick.
"It's crazy," Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said. "I didn't know him that well because he came in during the middle of the season. But I did know him. I still saw him every day when I went into work. It's just weird.
"I had a teammate die when I was in college. You just don't know how to handle it. It's just sad, man. It's a bad deal."(END OF EXCERPT) Read the rest here.

Even Though I'm Broke, I Will Donate Money To Haiti!!
For those folks who are in a financial bind like me,let me state that I hope our situation gets better. But right now,it's not about how bad I'm doing. The people of Haiti are in a far worse position than me.So, I will not make the sorry excuse that some insensitive,self-centered people have been making.
Even though I am broke & unemployed,I will send at least $10 to Haiti. If this tragedy doesn't bring out my charitable spirit, then, what will? I mean, did you see the massive devastation that has been reaped upon Haiti? The Haitians will need help in recovering from this earthquake for a long time.
Only the heartless could remain untouched by the scenes of destruction & human despair that are coming out of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
Please do what you can to lend Haiti a helping hand.
