Sesame Street's Ode To The Beauty Of Black Hair!
I'm really glad that Sesame Street did a segment on black hair.Kids of all races get to see a black Sesame Street character talk about how much she loves her hair. The diversity of black hair was featured in the segment as well. You saw everything from afros to cornrows. With all of the wigs & lace-fronts that I see on a daily basis,I think that this is a message that kids need to see.
There is no need to cover your black hair with a European-style wig every day.We don't need to process our hair, either.Straight hair is only one hair type.Curly hair is another. One is not better than the other.
Discover the beauty of your natural hair.If you moisturize & nurture it,you will be rewarded. Then, you'll be singing the same tune as this Sesame Street character.
Self-love is a beautiful thing.Kudos to Sesame Street for trying to teach kids to love themselves as they are.

Tennessee Teacher Has A Temper Tantrum In Class!
Donald Woods is the 11th grade Algebra teacher who went bananas on the students that he teaches at McGavock High School in Nashville,Tennessee.Mr. Woods became quite unruly after chastising his students for their behavior.I'm glad that the kids didn't emulate his crazy antics.
Maybe this veteran teacher needs to think about a new profession.Kids need adults to behave responsibly at all times.Even when they are not.Teachers & parents must set good examples for kids.Kids will be kids. And adults should BE adults.
Here's more from abc7:
"A veteran high school algebra teacher in Tennessee had a major meltdown in front of his students.
The bizarre incident was caught on tape by an 11th grade student who posted it on YouTube.
The footage shows the teacher, Donald Woods throwing furniture and yelling at the students. Several of them ran out of the classroom.
Woods was eventually handcuffed and taken away on a stretcher. Officials said he suffered from an apparent nervous breakdown.
Woods has been a teacher in Nashville for 17 years. He has been placed on administrative leave."(END OF EXCERPT)Read the rest here.
