Jamaica's Public Broadcasting Corporation Discovers That One Of It's Music Collections Was Stolen!

Whoever stole this musical collection from the JBC has no integrity or sense of history. They took rare & never released early recordings of Bob Marley & Peter Tosh,to name a few. But, not everyone is concerned about the missing recordings. Check out what Lee Scratch Perry says below & then check out this video of him. Here's more from BBC:

"Despite the public call for people to come forward with information, so far there have been no leads.

"There's a culture of complicity," says Carolyn Cooper, a professor of literary and cultural studies at the University of the West Indies.

"People need social responsibility to say; alright, yes, I know who stole the stuff but because its so important I'm prepared to risk telling the police."

Hopes of rebuilding what was the most comprehensive music collection in Jamaica may rest on artists and collectors helping to create a new archive.

"We want donations to help preserve our national heritage our history, whether audio or video we're interested in taking a look," says Mr Thomas
.

"Why let it sit gathering dust in a basement when it can be used here,"

Lee Scratch Perry was one dub reggae producer who had his early hits played on the JBC.

Speaking at his home in Kingston, he says he feels the record companies and Jamaican radio stations owe him money so he will not be contributing, and goes as far as saying he is happy the collection was taken.

"I'm glad they did that, you're glad why, what you give you get, who robbed me deserve to get what they've got," he says

Person Tackling Homelessness: Max Rameau Is Providing Shelter In Foreclosed Homes In Miami!

Max Rameau has a rescue plan that didn't come from Washington. He is putting homeless people in foreclosed homes. While everyone is bailing out the rich, Rameau is concerned with giving a life line to the poor. He is a serious activist who has a history of helping squatters. He's even been called the squatter's realtor. I believe that he is actually the people's hero. The video contains a interview with him. Here's more about Max Rameau's plan of action to help the homeless in Miami from MSNBC:
"Rameau is an activist who has been executing a bailout plan of his own around Miami's empty streets: He is helping homeless people illegally move into foreclosed homes.

"We're matching homeless people with people-less homes," he said with a grin.
Rameau and a group of like-minded advocates formed Take Back the Land, which also helps the new "tenants" with secondhand furniture, cleaning supplies and yard upkeep. So far, he has moved six families into foreclosed homes and has nine on a waiting list."(END OF EXCERPT) Read the whole article here:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28002276/

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta's" Ne-Ne Got Evicted From Her Beautiful Home!

I like Ne-Ne & her husband Greg because they seem to have a good, supportive marriage. So, I hope that it can withstand the financial trouble that they may be in. "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta" is a show about wealthy women's lives. I did hear that all of the women really weren't as rich as what was portrayed on the show. This substantiates those rumors. Here's more from Usmagazine.com:

"NeNe Leakes, star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is no longer living at the 5,000-square-foot, 5-bedroom home shown on the hit Bravo series.According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she and her husband, real estate investor Gregory Leakes, left the property in November -- a month after an eviction notice was filed by Winwood Properties.

The notice, filed Sept. 24, claimed that they owed $6,240 in past rent.

"The tenant said they would move by Sept. 14th because they could no longer afford the house," the notice read."(END OF EXCERPT) Read the rest here:http://www.usmagazine.com/news/real-housewives-of-atlanta-star-evicted
