The San Ramon,CA based oil company allegedly destroyed the village's water supply, soil,& food supply. For that reason, the villagers protested peacefully against Chevron but it got violent. This is a case where basic human rights were violated.

Let's hope it gets resolved, and justice is served in Nigeria. Chevron, though, has been very effective at delaying justice through appeals and other legal maneuvers in lawsuits in other parts of the world, such as Ecuador. I represent the Amazon Defense Coalition, a group of Ecuadorians who have sued Chevron for oil contamination in the rainforest. Check out our new blog for information about Chevron and its reckless behavior. We are blogging about the Nigerian trial now. http://thechevronpit.blogspot.com/
