Florida Woman Gets Home After Telling President Obama That She Was Homeless!
This is a quick turn-around for the Floridian woman who told President Obama that she had been living out of a vehicle.Someone has now offered her a home.It was Henrietta Hughes's emotional appeal for help that moved Chene Thompson to act with such generosity & kindness.Ironically, she's a Republican.
If everybody that was in her situation got in front of that same microphone,I know that they all would not have been so lucky.Thank God that at least one person has received some assistance. Now,let's figure out a way to help the rest of the struggling folks facing homelessness out here!
Here's more from The News-Press:
"Henrietta Hughes was offered a home by Chene Thompson, wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, who heard the homeless woman’s pleas for help to President Obama before a local and national crowd.he house is in LaBelle, the first home Scere Thompson bought after law school. She told Hughes, “Just give me the opportunity to help you.”
Hughes broke down in front of thousands when she told the president that she and her son have been homeless for more than a year. They are living in a pickup truck.
Obama hugged her after she asked her question and said his staff would help. A staffer later gave her a card to the head of the housing authority and she was told he would help her."(END OF EXCERPT) Read the rest here.
