I Bet Most Americans Only Think There's Two Wars Just Like The Brits!
Apparently, the Brits aren't aware of all the conflicts that are going on in Africa. I thought it was just the Americans who thought there was only two wars going on. There's so much discord & violence in Africa that does not get the attention it so badly needs. People are dying in record numbers. Here is an excerpt from Reuters AlertNet :
"Clearly people's focus is on Iraq and Afghanistan where British forces are involved, but at the same time as these conflicts are unfolding, there are millions of people around the world whose lives are being torn apart in other, neglected conflict zones," David Peppiatt, head of humanitarian policy at the British Red Cross, said in a statement. The video I included is about Emmanuel Jal who was a child soldier in Sudan. He is super duper talented & extremely good looking. But more importantly, he shares his poignant account of what it was like to be a "War Child".Emmanuel Jal does some dope ass hip-hop songs that are personal narratives describing what it was like to be in the midst of the warfare in Sudan. And we thought it was bad in the ghetto. Emmanuel Jal is talking about death & violence. All things that some people choose to glorify in their rap lyrics. Well, this guy really was a soldier who found no glory in the loss of life that was a common occurrence in Sudan. Watch this commendable man's story.
