Best Moments Of The Last Presidential Debate! " I Am Not George Bush"!
Remind me never to watch a debate on CNN again! Those screen monitors that can gauge which statements were the most effective to an audience of men & women was totally distracting! But, let me get to the moments I liked the most. First, let's get to the zingers! One of the best retorts of the night was when McCain said, " I am not George Bush, Senator Obama"! If you wanted to run against him, you should have ran 4 years ago."
Barack Obama's best zinger pertained to "Joe,the plumber"that was McCain's example of a small business owner. Because Joe kept being addressed by McCain, Senator Obama retorted," I'd like to talk to Joe too, if you're out there." Pretty damn snazzy comeback, Senator Obama. So, the next time McCain speaks it is with anger. McCain says, "Joe, you're rich! Congratulations". Now, this was in response to Obama telling him that he would exempt smaller businesses from being taxed. The tax cuts would apply to the larger ones. But, I think it was inappropriate to even use the word "rich" in this sour economy.
What I found was when it came to the health plan issue, McCain spent more time talking against Obama's plan then he did detailing his own. That's because he knows his plan is not worth discussing. Barack Obama has a superior health plan. Was it a freudian slip or intentional when McCain said Senator Government then went to talk about how government was too big? But the Roe V. Wade part of the debate should really concern women. John McCain's position is just plain scary & he seems to have a total disregard for women. Issues like abortion & equal pay are two things he seems to oppose.
Barack Obama had me worried for the first 20 minutes. But in the end, he was presidential which should obliterate John McCain. He is winning so far & bringing up William Ayers did nothing to change the flow of the game.Of course, John McCain was smug & I don't think he looked presidential at all. He just looked combative and angry as usual. McCain shouldn't be running the country. McCain proved that to me tonight & apparently some undecided voters! More on that in my next posting.
Will McCain Successfully Divorce Himself From Bush?
John McCain claims to have repudiated all negative comments against Obama. That is a lie. He has only corrected one woman who called Obama an Arab. And he did not say anything positive about Arabs when he "repudiated" that woman. How come no one has mentioned the fact that he did not say one thing positive about Arabs. He has not come out against the racism that has been displayed on Fox. So, why would Barack Obama repudiate John Lewis? John Lewis is a grown man & this country practices free speech. Barack Obama is a little too cerebral tonight, though. Let's hope that he doesn't let McCain successfully disassociate himself from George Bush. He needs to bring up Keating 5 since we are discussing poor judgement tonight. Senator Obama was in his 30's when he dealt with Bill Ayers. He did not fund any terrorist acts for Bill Ayers & was not involved in any terrorist activities. On the other hand, Senator McCain was in his 50's when the Senate Ethic's Committee found him guilty of using poor judgement! This all happened in these men's lives. I care more about the fact that John McCain is a lot more like President Bush than Barack Obama could ever be.What's more important to me is what will happen in my life in John McCain was to win. My future is already uncertain enough. Now, I'm going back to watching the debate!
Will This Debate Have Any Memorable Moments?? The Last One Was A Total Snooze!
I love dramatic moments on television. The first presidential debate between Obama & McCain was only interesting because Barack Obama has a lot to prove. The second debate was really tedious for me to watch. My mother & I talked through the whole thing! We were amazed at the mind-numbing questions the audience asked. I mean, Tom Brokaw looked so unexcited to be the moderator that it was really quite funny. Since both candidates regurgitated their stump speeches,I was completely unimpressed with the "debate". It should have been called a parley. So, here is a video that shows some of the best moments in past debates. Tonight,it is extremely important to McCain supporters for him to bring up all of Barack Obama's scandals. I'm in the tank for Obama anyway so it doesn't matter to me. But for those who are undecided, McCain better get a good grasp on the issues. Another uninformative debate may be the nail in McCain's political coffin.
